San Mateo, CA (October 20, 2010) – Ipera Technology ( is proud to announce successful integration of the Ipera Xtream Encoding system with EarthChannel’s ( media streaming and indexing service, offering very high quality real-time Internet video streaming to municipalities, education, worship, corporate, and community cable operators.

“EarthChannel is a recognized pioneer that offers compelling and exceptionally cost effective streaming services to their customers. We are very pleased Earthchannel will offer our live encoding system as an option to their customers,” said Ray Brooksby, Senior Vice President at Ipera Technology.

The Ipera Xtream Encoder is a turnkey video capture and encoding solution that delivers the quality of much higher cost solutions in a very affordable system. The encoder supports quality HD and SD encoding to live streams that can be delivered via EarthChannel’s media streaming solutions, allowing customers to deliver affordable, high quality video to their customers, employees, and congregations wherever they have access to a browser and the Internet.

However, source content need not be live. The Xtream Encoder can also transcode in real time from a very wide range of file-based content. “Ipera’s system is a unique combination of file-based transcoding and live delivery,” says Cliff Johnson, President at EarthChannel. “Combining both capabilities in a single system allows our customers to stream from live or file-based content, or to use the system ‘off line’ to repurpose their content for on-demand delivery through EarthChannel’s VOD offering,” said Johnson.
