Pixel Xtream L2400 Streaming Encoder Delivers Real-Time Network Transcoding, Live HD Ingest and Ipera’s Unique Intelligent, On-the-Fly Video Enhancement for Superior Quality at All Bitrates
Redwood Shores, CA (April 12, 2010)– Ipera Technology, the advanced video processing and enhancement technology pioneer, announced today the launch of the L2400 Streaming Encoder, the latest addition to the Pixel Xtream line of professional and broadcast transcoders and streaming encoders. Attendees of NAB 2010 will be the first to see live demos of the Pixel Xtream L2400 at Ipera’s Hospitality Suite (#2550) at the Las Vegas Hilton next door to the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall.
The Pixel Xtream L2400 streaming encoder was developed specifically to address the high quality and low bandwidth video distribution requirements of broadcasters, programmers, cable and telco service providers transitioning to IP-based workflows while pushing more live and archived video content online for TV Everywhere applications. It offers real-time network transcoding of streaming video in MPEG-2 TS and other formats, SDI ingest of video up to HD 1080i60, expanded MXF support for smooth integration into file-based workflows, and increased HD and professional format support. Pixel Xtream 2400 also incorporates a full version of the Pixel Xtream New Media Transcoder for batch file transcoding applications.
Pixel Xtream’s unique intelligent, on-the-fly video enhancement monitors the ingested video and applies enhancement filters when and as needed to remove distortions and improve the visual quality of the output without requiring operator intervention regardless of the video source. As a result, users see better video quality, lower bitrates, dramatically improved productivity, and lower operational costs.
“Over the past 9 months, the Pixel Xtream L2200 streaming encoders have been deployed in various IPTV, Internet TV, and mobile TV applications. They consistently deliver superior video quality at any bit rate and in all formats. In head-to-head comparisons, Pixel Xtream products deliver increased productivity and lower costs across the board. The L2400 will give broadcasters and other users the same advantages while better integrating into their IP workflows,” said Greg Ellis, VP of Business Development for Ipera.
